​Nature and Scope

The Training and Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the planning, development, coordination and teaching of staff training and orientation/on boarding. In addition, he/she will be responsible for developing, performing and maintaining the quality assurance process for the department. The candidate for this role must be able to communicate effectively to end users in a classroom, through webinars, via eLearning, and when providing at-the-elbow support. This position will provide support for onsite and remote staff.




  • Minimum 6 years’ revenue cycle operations experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in training
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Understands Revenue Cycle Key Performance Indicators and has the ability to identify vulnerabilities in Accounts Receivable related to quality performance
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new healthcare technology systems, processes, and procedures to ensure a working knowledge to be able to effectively train and provide quality review audits
  • Effective critical thinking, evaluative, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare related reports and summaries
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrently running quality audit review initiatives and adapt to changing deadlines and competing priorities and unexpected assignments
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
  • Skilled in teamwork dynamics, both as a member and a leader
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal formats, including the ability to produce clear and well-organized documentation
  • Customer-focused, team player with a desire to continuously improve current business practices/processes
  • Ability to see the big picture while maintaining a detail-oriented mindset
  • Principal Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the training and quality assurance programs
  • Conducts hands on, classroom and remote training and drafts performance reports on trainees
  • Conducts quality review audits of staff work and activities through random account sampling across all the key functions within Trilogy revenue cycle operations to evaluate and track the success and deficiencies of workflows and account resolution
  • Utilizes strong working knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations, processes and workflow related to the billing and resolution of claims, managing customer service functions, resolution of denied claims, posting of insurance and patient cash and best practice metrics in order to drive continuous improvement of operations and services.
  • Responsible for employee onboarding
  • Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of the revenue cycle standard operating procedures
  • Establish training goals by creating a training program, including outline, text, handouts, tests and exercises
  • Stays current on new teaching methods and techniques, learning trends, and technologies
